Chelsea ‘on track’ to complete second Enzo Maresca transfer as £55m announcement edges closer

Chelsea are expected to confirm their second summer signing over the coming days after Tosin Adarabioyo saw his move on a free transfer announced earlier this month. The Blues are expected to endure yet another busy trading period with Jhon Duran and Michael Olise two more additions Chelsea will be hoping to make over the coming months.

Since Todd Boehly and Co. arrived through the doors of Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have drastically changed their transfer methods with numerous young talents acquired. Andrey Santos, Dujuan Richards, Kendry Paez, all under 19, and many others have become Chelsea players in recent seasons with Estevao Willian and Pedro Lima the latest to agree on moves to west London.

An agreement for the latter has only just been reached which will see Chelsea pay as much as €10.5million (£8.8m) to Sport Recife despite attempts from Wolves star Matheus Cunha to have his fellow Brazilian snub London for the Midlands.

As for Estevao, interest from the Blues has been prominent for some time and performances from the 17-year-old saw numerous top clubs keen to act which resulted in Chelsea needing to agree a €65million (£51m) deal, including potential add-ons, for Palmeiras to accept his exit.

Following on from that, the teenager has since completed his Chelsea medical while in Brazil with his domestic season still ongoing. Just yesterday, Estevao picked up two assists in his side’s dominant 2-0 victory against Vasco de Gama.

As such, it is very likely his move is confirmed over the coming days with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano noting, in his Daily Briefing, that both clubs are just checking all of the documents. It has also been noted that the attacker will go straight into Maresca’s squad with a loan move looking unlikely as a result.

Estevao is therefore expected to be announced as Chelsea’s second addition of the summer with Lima possibly as the third before attention turns onto the marquee transfers. Talks between Villa and Chelsea for Duran have already taken place with the latter recently given permission to speak to the Colombia international and his camp.

As for Olise, Chelsea are facing a big transfer battle for his services with Newcastle and Bayern Munich recently contacting Crystal Palace over the possibility of signing the winger, as per The Athletic.
