‘Special’player wants to move to Stamford Bridge and Chelsea are about to decide whether to buy him – Romano

Chelsea are about to make a decision on one of their transfer targets. They have already got Tosin Adarabioyo through the door after signing the central defender from Fulham on a free transfer. Chelsea are now said to be deciding on whether to sign another Premier League star or not.

The Blues have been linked with the likes of Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise , Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran. Kerkez was recently criticised for his display for Hungary in their 3-1 defeat to Switzerland at Euro 2024.

Chelsea target wants move

Chelsea will not be playing in the Champions League next season after finishing sixth. However, it looks like the Blues still have their appeal. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Duran is keen to join Chelsea this summer. The club are now deciding whether they are going to bring him in or not, Romano also revealed.

On X, the Italian journalist said: “Chelsea are expected to make a decision soon on Jhon Duran situation, after talks with Aston Villa over swap deal. “Chelsea are also considering other options for new striker but talks also with Duran’s agents already took place, he wants the move.”

Chelsea could sign Jhon Duran and Michael Olise this summer

If Chelsea do go on to land Duran, which still looks more than possible, and Olise, it would show that the club want some more Premier League experience in their squad. Duran actually does not have that much, having made just three starts in the competition since 2023. He has, though, played 35 times in total.

The Colombian has been described as a “special” player by manager Unai Emery but has not had too many opportunities to show that at Villa Park. It could be a similar story at Stamford Bridge, with Nicolas Jackson Chelsea’s first-choice striker at the moment. But it does not look like that has put him off moving to west London this summer.
