Victor Osimhen transfer decision already confirmed amid Chelsea talk and PSG meeting

Victor Osimhen is a player who continues to be linked with a move to Chelsea as Enzo Maresca looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season starting in just a few weeks time. Chelsea have been linked with an interest in the Napoli striker for some time. He has a release clause of £110 million in his contract signed just over six months ago with Napoli expecting to receive the full amount if they are to let him leave this summer.

It has been suggested that Chelsea could potentially use Romelu Lukaku as leverage to try and bring the price down in a potential swap deal. It has been recently reported that the Blues are now looking to ‘progress’ their interest in Osimhen after initially deciding against making a move.

Chelsea could however face competition from French giants Paris Saint Germain. Fabrizio Romano reports that talks are advancing between the club and Osimhen’s camp with the player keen to join PSG if a deal can be agreed. If comments by Osimhem himself earlier this year are anything to go by, then he could be open to moving to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking while on Africa Cup of Nations duty with Nigeria back in January, the striker told CBS Sports : “At the end of the season, I think I already made up my mind. “I already know what I wanna do with my career, since I’ve started, I’ve been the one taking my own decision and everything is working out well for me. Even though when I started it, it didn’t go so well as planned. “But I already have my plan, I already know what I want to do, the next step I want to take. So for now I just want to finish the season strong, go relax somewhere with my daughter, and then finally come up with the decision I’ve already made.”

Comments from Napoli boss Antonio Conte earlier in the summer also suggest that the club expects the player to move on this summer . “I know what the situation is regarding Osimhen,” he said.
