Barcelona stars send blatant Nico Williams transfer message as Chelsea watch on

 

 

Three Barcelona players have commented on Nico Williams’ social media post as speculation over his future continues to grow amid links to the Premier League . The 21-year-old played a key role in Luis de la Fuente’s side, helping Spain to Euro 2024 glory which earned him a place in UEFA’s team of the tournament alongside William Saliba. His outstanding displays have caught the eye of a number of clubs in Europe.

Ifeanyichukwu understands that Arsenal have been monitoring the winger who has a £49million (€58m) release clause in his contract. Chelsea and Liverpool are all said to be keen over a move while Barcelona are hopeful of bringing him to Nou Camp to join his close friend Lamine Yamal.

Despite all the interest, his boyhood club remain confident that the forward will stay at the San Mames Stadium. While it has been claimed Williams would favour a move to Barca over the Premier League, he has warned clubs to not wait until the last minute to strike a deal. Barcelona president Joan Laporta has assured fans that his club does have the financial capability to land the 21-year- old. “Economically speaking, we could commit to the signing of Nico Williams,” Laporta told Catalunya Radio .

“Nico’s a player I like, I like him a lot. “We are working with [coach Hansi] Flick on possible signings. Now we have to leave [sporting director] Deco to close the operations we are working on.”

Barca stars Gavi, Yamal, Alejandro Balde have added more fuel to all the speculation surrounding his future. The youngster posted some snaps from his holiday in Italy on Instagram, prompting all three players to comment with emojis. Willilams has been asked, several times, about his future.

Speaking during Euro 2024 he said: “It’s always good to hear things from the outside, it means I’m doing my job well. Every kid dreams of catching the eye of big clubs. “I have already said that Bilbao is my home. I just renewed recently and I’m very very happy here.”
