Chelsea can finally complete £38m transfer on one condition as Victor Osimhen meeting set

Chelsea are keeping up their approach to the transfer market this summer and have now confirmed five new players. One of those will join next summer in Estevao Willian, and two are teenagers, but work is work. The Blues show now signs of slowing down either and are looking set to be busy for much of the remainder of Enzo Maresca’s first window in charge.

For the Italian things are certainly about to get going as pre-season is set to start in the coming weeks. Ahead of the tour of America later this month he will be meeting with new players and planning for the incoming and outgoing activity of others to continue. It’s never quiet at Stamford Bridge these days, after all.

Lukaku return

Chelsea could offered a surprise way out of their Romelu Lukaku summer transfer nightmare this summer. It is reported in Italy that should Manchester United fail in their attempts to sign Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna – who is 99% certain to leave, according to their director – then they could turn to Lukaku as an alternative.

Lukaku has just 12 months left now on his initial five-year deal at Stamford Bridge and there is no expectation of him making a miraculous turnaround to be included in Enzo Maresca’s squad. The club are keen to sell him this summer and recoup as much of the £38million accounting value left for Lukaku as possible.

Osimhen roundup

Napoli’s ace in the pack is back on the agenda for Chelsea this summer, and there’s a lot to get through here. Firstly, new boss Antonio Conte is set to meet with Victor Osimhen next week as the pair prepare for pre-season. Conte spoke about Osimhen leaving the club last week but it has since been reported that talks with take place in person due to a lack of movement towards an exit so far.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are still interested in signing him despite an enormous £101million release clause . He also has large wages and is on the radar of Manchester United as well as Saudi Arabian clubs. Osimhen is not thought to want to go to the Middle East but so far Paris Saint-Germain and their bags of money have not managed to move the needle yet either.
