Chelsea fans are all in agreement about Pedro Neto after his debut vs Manchester City

There were a few Chelsea debutants during Sunday’s defeat against Manchester City, including Pedro Neto . Chelsea suffered a 2-0 home loss versus Man City this weekend in their opening game of the Premier League season.

Erling Haaland and Mateo Kovacic both scored to give the visitors maximum points at Stamford Bridge. For Blues head coach Enzo Maresca , he started his time in West London with a defeat to the reigning champions.

His side’s next league clash is away at Wolverhampton Wanderers next Sunday, but before that is a Conference League play-off first leg against Servette on Thursday night.

Pedro Neto, 24, was one of four players to make their Chelsea debuts today. Neto, Marc Guiu, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Renato Veiga all come off the bench for club debuts.

The summer signing replaced Christopher Nkunku on the left wing in the 58th minute and had a couple of bright sparks. Neto thinks speed and one-on-one dribbling is his greatest strength, which is something the fanbase saw a glimpse of.

Positives from this game. Lavia and Cucurella. Pedro Neto should start next game at LW with Nkunku taking a more central role. #CFC — AB ⭐⭐ (@abhi_21_CFC) August 18, 2024

There’s a lot more to come from Pedro Neto

Neto showed glimpses of quality during his first half an hour as a Chelsea player, certainly enough to encourage the supporters. However, there’s so much more to come from the rapid winger once he’s settled in at his new home.

His £54m transfer ( BBC) from Wolves could turn out to be a brilliant piece of business if he keeps fit and fulfils his potential.

He got his first minutes for the Blues on the left wing, where he’s great driving at a full-back. He’s capable of playing more centrally in attack or on the right wing, too.

It’s a very good sign for him that he’s already won over fans, plus got some minutes today while Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke were left on the bench.
