And his first day saw him set about the training ground with some exciting new drills. A video posted by Chelsea showed players zapping the ball around in close areas at high speeds. The idea is to seemingly make stars feel comfortable with Maresca’s intense possession tactics.

And the boss himself was not afraid to get involved as he dished out instructions with passionate intent. Maresca could be seen charging around the field while players soaked up the vital information on offer. While at the end of the session, the former West Ham coach demonstrated his know-how with more flamboyancy. Maresca said: “Pass here. Again, play me a repeat pass. It’s important, pay attention.

“Okay, go on, start. Come here, play with me. Yes, well done, well done, fall in behind. “Well done Chilly, go, go go! Stay in position guys, yes. Out from there, yes Noni, well done. Slow down, well done Levi.

“Alright guys, almost there. Now is the moment that we need to work every day, every day, every day.” Fans were left gushing over the potential success facing Maresca’s Chelsea team this season. One said: “We’re winning it all.” Another declared: “Chelsea is cooking, something big is going to happen this season.” One noted: “Haven’t seen a coach so passionate since Tuchel.”

Kevin De Bruyne has verbally agreed to join Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad, according to reports. West Ham have signed Wolves defender Max Kilman for a fee of £40million. Chelsea have had a £42million bid for Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion rejected by the Spanish club who are holding out for at least £70m, SunSport can exclusively reveal.

Another added: “Very exciting times ahead.” Chelsea have so far signed five players, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall joining his former Leicester boss in London. The Blues have also picked up Aston Villa forward Omari Kellyman and Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo. While they forked up just £5million for Barcelona striker Marc Guiu.

But Chelsea’s most exciting signing won’t be arriving until next year, with Estevao Willian lighting up the pitch for Palmeiras ever since agreeing a £50m switch. He will also be joined by fellow wonderkid Kendy Paez, who already has 12 caps for Ecuador at the age of 17.
