Chelsea’s Jhon Duran doubts revealed amid Samu Omorodion transfer talks and Michael Olise boost

The Blues have been in talks with Villa and the 20-year-old over the past week or so but the striker’s wage demands are understood to be too high. Sources have also claimed there are some doubts over Duran’s attitude – something that has caused Chelsea to look elsewhere.

The club are now in talks with Atletico Madrid over a possible move for Samu Omorodion. Chelsea floated the idea of a £34million move – including add-ons – for the 20-year- old striker and Atleti quickly discouraged the west Londoners from making the offer.

The Madrid-based outfit are eager to renew the Spaniard’s contract after he impressed on loan at Alaves last season. Omorodion still has four years remaining on his deal at the Civitas Metropolitano but Atletico are keen to fend off any potential suitors by offering him fresh terms.

Chelsea are determined to bring another striker to the club before the start of the 2024/25 season. The Blues want to add some more support and competition for Nicolas Jackson with the Senegal international having too much pressure on his shoulders last term.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are set to talk to Michael Olise and his representatives in the next few days after Crystal Palace granted permission, we understands. The 22- year-old has a £60million release clause inserted in the contract he signed at Selhurst Park last summer but any move would be complicated, with parts of the money owed to his former club Reading as well.

Chelsea have earmarked Olise as their number one target as they look to add another right winger this summer. The Blues want to give Enzo Maresca more options in his front-line as he prepares for his debut season with the club after being appointed head coach on a five-year contract earlier in the month.
