“A future one for Chelsea. Pedro Lima, who plays as right-back for Sport Recife will be a new Chelsea player via Strasbourg , the other side of the BlueCo group,” Romano said via his YouTube channel. “The deal is verbally agreed between the BlueCo side and Recife. It’s €7 million, €3.5m in add ons, a long-term contract for the player. The agent will be in London this week to fix the final details of the deal.” “But this talented right-back will play for Chelsea in the future. Now he will go to Strasbourg.”
Jhon Duran to Chelsea update
Romano also revealed that Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran, who is the favourite to join the Stamford Bridge side in the summer.
“Aston Villa and Chelsea are discussing Jhon Duran. Talks took place today [Wednesday],” Romano said. “He’s one of the concrete names on Chelsea’s shortlist for a new striker. They want to bring in a new forward as soon as possible. They don’t want him at the end of August.
“Duran is super keen on the move. There are other important clubs around Europe and calls are now arriving because many teams are aware of the possibility to sign Jhon Duran because of Aston Villa’s financial situation. “But Chelsea are talking to Aston Villa, they’re talking to the player’s side, I can confirm this. “Now it’s only Chelsea’s side to decide how and when to close the deal.”
Ten Hag’s new Man Utd deal
Erik ten Hag, meanwhile, is heading towards a contract extension at Man Utd , with Romano dropping details of what is being discussed. “What I’m hearing tonight is that there is more than a 90% possibility to see Erik ten Hag extend his contract at Manchester United,” he explained.
“The length of the contract, which they are still discussing, should be another two years added to the year he already had on his deal, so it will run until 2027. It’s a three-year total contract for Ten Hag. – Fabrizio Romano “This is the conversation they are having and it’s a positive one. “Ten Hag, despite all the rumours over his future, respected Manchester United’s decision to have a long review and consider all their options. He will be involved in the planning for the future.
“A three-year deal is really concrete. The new deal is 90% confirmed. Both parties want to make it happen. Ten Hag will be happy to plan with that, to have a long-term vision at Man Utd.”
Bayern and Leverkusen make signings
Romano has confirmed transfer moves at both Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, with the former signing Hiroki Ito from Stuttgart and the latter adding Aleix Garcia to their ranks from Girona.
“Bayern have completed one important signing for Vincent Kompany. We’re waiting on Joao Palhinha because Bayern and Fulham are still in discussions, waiting on Jonathan Tah because they’re still in negotiations with Leverkusen, who is another top target in their defence,” he said.
“But a new centre-back is coming, a versatile one who can play different positions, 25 years old, Ito from Stuttgart. It’s here we go. The deal is done. “Bayern have met the release clause of the Japanese defender of €30 million. He was linked to Tottenham and other clubs, but Bayern worked behind the scenes.
“Also here we go for Bayer Leverkusen. Xabi Alonso has a new midfielder. “Aleix Garcia from Girona. He was linked with Barcelona in January but he’s now leaving LaLiga and moving to Bundesliga. There was interest from West Ham but they signed Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras.
“Bayer Leverkusen will sign Aleix Garcia. They can offer him Champions League football and also the direct call of Xabi Alonso made the difference. They will pay €18m to Girona plus €2m, so €20m total package.”
