Karim Adeyemi to Chelsea transfer truth clear for Enzo Maresca after statement

Borussia Dortmund managing director Lars Ricken has insisted that Chelsea-linked Karim Adeyemi is not for sale. The 22-year-old has been one of several strikers linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer as Enzo Maresca looks to fix a major weakness in his squad. Nicolas Jackson endured a difficult first season in west London whilst Armando Broja could leave.

And according to German outlet Bild , that has seen the Blues reportedly enter talks with Dortmund over a summer deal for Adeyemi . The forward had an injury-hit 2023/24 campaign but was still able to play a key role in their run to the Champions League final. Premier League rivals Liverpool have also been linked with the striker.

However, Ricken has poured cold water on speculation linking Adeyemi with a move away from the Signal Iduna Park. “We never opened a door. For us, that’s not an issue at all. Every day there is a name in the press who supposedly wants to leave and how much we will earn then,” he told Ruhr Nachrichten, via Fabrizio Romano.

The player himself has refused to comment on his future. “I can’t say anything about that. I’m wearing a Dortmund shirt, and I’m very happy to be wearing a Dortmund shirt. There are no guarantees in life,” he told old Ruhr Nachrichten last week.

Sky Germany have previously claimed that Dortmund would consider a sale if a club comes forward with an offer in excess of €30million (£25m) is made. Should German giants Bayern Munich enter the race though then Adeyemi’s mind is likely to be made up rather quickly.

He told Marca: “If (Bayern) made me an offer, I think I would choose that path. I want to show them what I can do, who I am and that it was a mistake to let me go. That motivates me.”
