‘My boy’: Thiago Silva sends message to 19-year-old Chelsea youngster after he was seen in pre-season training
Chelsea players have begun filtering back in to Cobham as they begin preparations for the upcoming domestic season. The Blues endured their first training session under new manager Enzo Maresca yesterday, with a video emerging of the Italian beginning to get his instructions across to his new players.
The session was an opportunity for a number of players who have been suffering with injury to begin to make their return. Wesley Fofana was one of those seen amongst his teammates at Cobham. One experienced player that Maresca will have to work around not having at the club is Thiago Silva , after he departed the club following four sensational campaigns at Stamford Bridge.
Thiago Silva sends message to Angelo Gabriel
However, it looks as if the Brazilian is still showing an interest in what is going on at Chelsea, commenting on the Instagram post of youngster Angelo Gabriel. He said: “Let’s go my boy” after he was spotted in first team training yesterday.
The Brazilian featured quite heavily for the Blues on the prior pre-season tour of the United States, and has reportedly already been told to prepare for this season’s version. He actually enjoyed a really good start to his loan away from the club last season, with him lighting things up for Strasbourg in Ligue 1.
Angelo opportunity to breakthrough
However, injury cut his time there short, with him returning early to West London in order to get treatment for his issue. There is no doubt an opportunity for a player in the right wing position to make a statement this season off the back of recent transfer activity.
Omari Hutchinson has already been sold for quite a bit of profit to Ipswich Town, while they have missed out on bringing in Michael Olise to their ranks after he decided to make the move to Bayern Munich instead of Chelsea.
