Victor Osimhen could lead £201m Chelsea transfer blitz with two more deals close
Chelsea have been one of the most active clubs in the summer transfer window so far in the off-season as Enzo Maresca looks to build his new squad ahead of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign. The Blues have not wasted much time in backing the new head coach in the window, with the club already welcoming five new players to the club.
Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Omari Kellyman and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have all arrived at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have also completed the signing of Esteveo Willian, who will join the club next summer. But the Blues are not done there with two more signings close to being completed.
It will probably continue to be a busy window for Chelsea, right up until the deadline at the end of August. So with that in mind, here is a look at six transfers that could be completed between now and then.
Renato Veiga
The 20-year-old looks to be closing in on a move to Chelsea with Basel confirming that he is in talks with another club over a transfer, causing him to leave the pre-season training camp. football.london understands that the Blues are on the verge of signing the left-sided centre-back in a deal worth around £14 million. He will be assessed by Enzo Maresca and his coaching staff before a decision is made on whether to send him out on loan or integrate him into the first team at Stamford Bridge in the upcoming season.
Aaron Anselmino
Another player Chelsea are closing in on is Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino. football.london understands that the clubs have agreed a £17 million deal for the 19-year-old with a move expected to be official soon. There has been talk of the youngster going straight out on loan to Strasbourg for the upcoming season. But no decision has been made on his immediate future once a deal to Chelsea is confirmed.
Murillo
football.london understands that Murillo features high on Chelsea’s list of potential signings this summer, with the club said to have made an approach to Nottingham Forest over a potential deal for the Brazilian. Forest are said to value the defender at £60 million plus, a price that is said to have put Chelsea off. But negotiations could potentially reduce that asking price, and the club could even consider a swap deal to drive the price down further.
Responding to the talk over his future, Murillo told Benja Me Mucho : “We don’t know anything for certain, the window opened last month so I’m going to return to Nottingham Forest for pre-season. There might be some discussions on whether I’ll stay or not so there’s a lot of things to happen still but I’m relaxed.”
Victor Osimhen
A player who has been linked with a move to the Premier League and Chelsea for some time. He is one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe, but clubs have been put off by his £110 million release clause. Chelsea are said to have held talks with Napoli over a possible swap deal including Romelu Lukaku , but those discussions fell through. If they can be resurrected, then it could be a deal that Chelsea look to do before the end of the window.
